A place to feel heard, understood, and supported.

Life can feel complicated, especially when you’re carrying stress, uncertainty, or changes you didn’t expect. Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and begin creating meaningful change. I offer thoughtful, compassionate psychological care to help you better understand yourself, navigate challenges, and move toward the life you want.

About Lake to Lake Psychology Services

Lake to Lake Psychology Services offers a warm, collaborative space for adults seeking support with life transitions, stress, relationships, and personal growth. My approach is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and evidence-based psychological care, with attention to the whole person and the experiences that shape who you are.

I started Lake to Lake Psychology Services because I wanted to create a different kind of practice—one that gives both clients and clinicians room to do meaningful work well. I believe good therapy requires empathy, presence, authenticity, and enough space to really understand what is happening. I intentionally maintain a limited caseload so I can bring that kind of attention to the people I work with.

My work is informed by evidence-based psychological principles while remaining responsive to your individual needs, values, and circumstances. I recognize that there is no single path to meaningful change, and I tailor our work together to support your goals and the person you are becoming.

People can change. Sometimes we just need help understanding what has kept us stuck—and finding a way forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started with services?

Getting started is simple. Begin by scheduling a complimentary 15-minute consultation using the Schedule a Consultation button. During our consultation, we’ll talk about what you’re looking for, what you hope to accomplish through therapy, and whether we seem like a good fit.

If we decide to move forward, I’ll help you schedule your first appointment and provide instructions for completing your intake paperwork through my secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. All required forms must be completed before your first session. You’ll also be asked to provide a credit card to keep securely on file for payment and any applicable late cancellation or missed appointment fees.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. The first step is simply starting the conversation.

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance companies directly. However, your insurance plan may provide out-of-network benefits that can reimburse you for a portion of your therapy fees.

If you choose to use your out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill, which is an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Because insurance plans vary, I recommend contacting your insurance provider before beginning therapy to understand your specific benefits.

You may want to ask:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health services?
  • Do I have an out-of-network deductible, and has it been met?
  • What percentage of the allowed amount will my plan reimburse?
  • Is there a limit on the number of sessions covered?
  • How do I submit a superbill for reimbursement?

Because your insurance company determines your coverage and reimbursement, I cannot guarantee that your plan will reimburse you for any portion of your therapy fees.

If you have questions about how the out-of-network process works, I’m happy to help you understand the process.

What are the benefits of seeing an out-of-network provider?

Choosing an out-of-network provider can give you more flexibility and choice when deciding who you want to work with. Rather than limiting your options to providers who participate with your insurance plan, you can look for a psychologist whose experience, approach, and areas of expertise are a good match for what you’re looking for.

There can also be greater privacy. When you use insurance to pay for therapy, your insurance company generally requires information about your treatment in order to determine coverage. When you pay privately, your insurance company is not involved in your care.

If your insurance plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, you may also be able to receive reimbursement for a portion of your therapy fees by submitting a superbill to your insurance company.

For many people, the ability to choose a provider based on fit and expertise, rather than insurance network status alone, is an important part of finding the right therapist.

What’s your cancellation policy?

I ask for 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your session. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged the full session fee. This helps me protect time for all the clients I serve.

If you’re attending a workshop or have scheduled a speaking engagement, the cancellation policy may differ – feel free to ask and I’ll walk you through it.

Do you offer in-person appointments?

Lake to Lake Psychology Services is a telehealth-only practice. Sessions are conducted through a secure, convenient online platform, allowing you to meet with me from a private location that works for you.

Before beginning therapy, we will make sure telehealth is an appropriate option for your needs and discuss any questions you may have about the process.

What states can you provide therapy in?

I provide telehealth services to clients located in North Carolina and other PsyPact states where I hold authorization to practice.

Through PSYPACT’s Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT), qualified psychologists may provide telehealth services across state lines without obtaining a separate psychology license in each participating jurisdiction. Because authorization and state participation can change, I’ll confirm your location and eligibility before we begin services.

How do psychologists differ from other mental health providers?

Psychologists are doctoral-level mental health professionals who receive extensive training in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and psychotherapy. This typically includes several years of graduate education, supervised clinical training, and extensive experience providing mental health services.

Other mental health professionals—including licensed clinical social workers, professional counselors, and marriage and family therapists—also receive specialized education and training to provide psychotherapy. The differences are primarily in the type and scope of education, training, and licensure.

As a psychologist, my training allows me to bring a broad understanding of mental health, human behavior, relationships, and psychological treatment to our work together. What matters most is finding a provider whose experience, approach, and areas of expertise are a good fit for your needs.
